Meet Archer!  Archer is an approximately 8 year old tri-color male.  Archer was picked up as a stray in Missouri and was lucky enough to make it to Illinois in the care of MW BREW.  Archer is a sweet boy and has lots of energy.  First and foremost, Archer loves to go on walks.  In his foster home, they have a giant backyard and while Archer will go in the yard, he MUCH prefers a walk to a romp in the yard.  If you want a walking companion, Archer is definitely for you.

Archer gets along with all the dogs in the foster home.  He doesn't really play with the other dogs (we don't think he knows what playtime is) but has shown interest in learning.  He also gets along fine with the cat and foster kittens that he hangs out with.

Archer does bark for attention and we are working on quiet time.  There are other dogs in the foster home, so he doesn't get the full attention of his foster parents and we think most of the time he is barking because he wants to go on a walk.  Did I say he likes to go on walks?

Archer does fine in his crate when his foster parents are at work.  He spends about 5 hours a day in the crate and he settles right down and sleeps most of that time (his foster parents have a camera at home to check on him).  He doesn't bark while in the crate.

Medically Archer has had a few seizures while in foster care.  His meds are being regulated.  He has no signs of any other medical issues to cause them (and has been tested). Some dogs just suffer from unexplained seizures.  Don't let this scare you off: Archer has lots of love to give.

Archer is a talker, he likes to groan and moan, especially while getting butt scratches or rubbing his body on the bushes during the walk.  He does super turbo after potty time and barks during his turbo.  He is just so silly and makes everyone laugh when he does this.  Archer is not 100% on housetraining, but probably 95%.

Being a typical male dog, recently neutered, his urge to mark everything is strong.  He has made tremendous progress on this, but might want to mark in a new environment.

Please consider Archer, he would love to be in his forever home.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
