Hi my name is Betsy and I was born June 30 and I'm a little tot, an all-around typical puppy. I have tons of energy and I don't seem to ever get tired. I love to run, bounce, wrestle, playing with toys and my foster siblings. I also like to hear myself bark or bark at other dogs when I want to play. Therefore, my foster mom thinks that an apartment or condo may not be ideal for me.

I'm great with other dogs and cats, still learning how to walk nicely on a leash, and crate trained during the day.  A big bonus is I keep my crate clean. I sleep in my doggy bed at night too.

My house training skills are not perfect but I am working on it.  Remember, I am a puppy and will need to go out a bit more often!

Foster mom said I am a very picky eater, whatever that means.

I do have a couple special needs. I have a condition in one of my eyes which is very common. It is  called Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS; dry eye).  My new family needs to apply daily drops in my eye.

The other special need is I have a grade 6 heart murmur and the prognosis is good.  No cardiac medications, no complications from the restrictive VSD, no aortic valve leakage, and my heart muscle works well.  No re-check of these issues is needed but I do need regular vet visits just like all other beagle.

Neither condition stops me from being a very active, loving, adorable and rambunctious puppy.

Yes, I am a special puppy, do you have a loving and caring home for me?

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
