Hi, I'm Dewey!  I'm a lucky pup.  I was a stray in central Ohio during the bitter cold spell this winter. Fortunately someone found me and brought me to a shelter.  I had frost bite on my paws and private parts that was very painful!  Midwest BREW agreed to take me in and I was able to move onto a warm foster home in Michigan!  I've been here a month now and I'm all healed up and ready for my forever home!

My foster family thinks I am probably 10 years old, but I have plenty of energy.  I'm in good shape medically, I was recently neutered and given all my vaccinations.  I also had a dental cleaning.  The vet detected a heart murmur, so I even went to a doggy cardiologist and had an echocardiogram!  I have a small leak in my mitral valve, but I have no heart enlargement.  The doctor said I'm not at risk and no cardiac medications are required.  I should go back annually to get this checked out.

I get along really well with other dogs and the cat that live here.  I did not know about house training when I came here, but I quickly learned that I need to go #1 outside and have had no accidents for the last 2 weeks. I'm crate trained too, but honestly don't really like being in the crate.  One day when my family was at work I managed to escape the crate and I was just lying on the couch when they came home.  I have been a good boy and don't get into things I shouldn't or chew on things.  I love walks and like being out when the weather is nice.  I was getting impatient when I could not be walked due to my sore paw (frost bite) and healing from my neuter, so I decided to take matters in my own hand.  My foster family has a 4 foot chain link fence and I climbed it!!!  My foster dad was in the yard with me and ran me down in the front yard, so my adventure was short.  Now that I get regular walks, my urge to climb the fence has been reduced, but be warned that I have escape skills!  Please fill out an adoption application if you think I might be a fit for you.
