Stephen Lang: Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to my daughter J-Lo from your mom. It was so wonderful to see you again after 7 years!

Hello Midwest BREW! My current name is Abby, but before I was adopted in 2011, I was one of the American Idol pups and I was named after Jennifer Lopez, which is why I’m listed as J-Lo. My first name was surprisingly appropriate because I am a DIVA. My bark rivals that of my foster siblings and I love to dance and play and wiggle my butt to get attention. I keep trying to play with my smaller foster brother, but my doggie charms are not winning him over!

While I don’t look like a beagle, I swear my mama was a beagle, but we don’t know much about my daddy. My people think he might have been a border collie or a lab because I’m a bigger girl! I’ve lost a little weight with regular walks, and my foster mama thinks I look fabulous. My waist is trimmer and I keep up easily on my evening walks.

I’ve come back to Midwest BREW because of family changes, and I’m looking for a new pack. I’m a bit bossy, so I’d be best in a home without any other dogs or with a dog who is super mellow. I also love attention and don’t always enjoy sharing my toys or my humans. I’m not super high energy, but I’m strong and I love to walk so an active family would be perfect for me. My foster family has a yard, and I enjoy sniffing and hunting for critters, but I would also be ok with a family who doesn’t have a fence. As long as I got regular exercise, I would be happy. My foster dad recently took me to play at a dog park and I did well there because I enjoyed sniffing and meeting other pups.

I do have the beagle nose and my height helps me with some great counter surfing, so my new family is going to need to be diligent about keeping tasty food out of reach.I don’t love the dog bed, so I might be happier sleeping with my human or on a couch or comfy chair near my people. I love to play ball and can play for a long time; I even bring the ball back, but I may tease you and try to wrestle you for it. My favorite game is to drop the ball and then cover it with my giant paw! I'm super smart, and I have a friendly disposition and an adorable face. I might give you the paw to pet me because I love snuggling with my people and belly rubs are the ABSOLUTE best.My tail wags a lot, and I’m a happy girl.

Foster note: J-Lo is protective on a leash when you walk her, so she may bark at other dogs or humans. She also dislikes it when other dogs get in her face when she is on a leash. We have 3 other dogs in our house, so we also feed all the dogs in separate areas to avoid arguments. J-Lo has figured out the routine and goes to her spot every time. She loves routine and when she’s not sleeping, she’s following her people around and looking for attention. She’s a good girl who deserves a family who will love her forever.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
