Hi! I’m Clark, and I’m a little shy. In my past life, I was a hunting dog and lived outside. Since I met friends at Midwest BREW, I wasn’t aware a dog could have a life as great as this!

There are a few things I’d love to tell you about me. I’m about 7 years old, but don’t let the white face fool you! I love to play with other dogs in my yard, and I get to go to doggy daycare twice a week!   I love living indoors now! I have adapted quickly and I love having two meals a day. I only eat my food and unlike some of my breed, I don’t really have an interest in human food. I have a soft coat with very minimal shedding, and I have no issues going outside to do my business. My foster dad is proud of me for not having any accidents inside!

During the day I like to watch “Beagle TV” (looking out the patio door) for possible intruders and other varmints in the yard. If I see a possible threat, I will sound the beagle alarm by shouting AROOO!!! to notify you (and all others within earshot – which is why I wouldn’t be good for an apartment or neighbors who aren’t dog friendly!) In the evening I love to go on walks or just take a nap.

My foster dad took me to the doctor, and my doctor said I was in great shape! But he also put me on a special medicine. In my past life, I was a pack dog, so now that it’s just me and my foster dad, I get anxious and upset when he leaves because I want to follow him everywhere! I think they call it “separation anxiety.” I wear a bullet proof vest everyday (dad calls it a Thundershirt) which helps keep me more relaxed. I love wearing it! I am still adapting to the medicine, but I really don’t like being left alone, however, when I have a friend over to stay with me I do great! I would LOVE to have a canine brother or sister!!

My ideal family would have a fenced yard because one time I went exploring (like the real Lewis and Clark!) and got lost for a few days and I was really scared. I don’t want to have that happen again! I like having someone home with me as much as possible because my humans are my pack! I also need you to be patient with me as I am still adjusting to life inside and sometimes I bark too much. I wouldn’t be so good for a house with smaller humans because I might try to sneak out the door behind them. Did I mention I would LOVE to have a canine brother or sister??

I hope you will give me a chance! I would love to stay on as an inside dog with my own family who will spend lots of time with me and maybe even have a canine brother or sister to play with and keep company (did I mention that?)

Uh oh, here comes the mailman – gotta protect my new house!
