Gender: Female Age: 6 months Status: Available

Lacy is a 5.5 month old puppy with loads of energy and a love for playing with other dogs and toys.  She is super friendly and loving, always wanting to meet people and other dogs.  She is working on housebreaking and has come a long way.  However, she only will potty in the yard and not on walks.  We are working with her on that.

Lacy would be best for someone who has a yard because she loves investigating and her nose takes her all over on little adventures.  She has tried to follow her nose to the neighbors’ yard by digging, so a yard that is extra secure is a must because she is still small at 14.5lbs and very quick.  She does stop when you tell her no, but being a beagle her nose rules her.

She spends time in her crate when no one is home and will even go in it to enjoy a snack.

She sleeps on our bed at night.  She really enjoys the company of people.
Lacy loves playing with other dogs.  She is submissive and allows my dog to call the shots, but she is a little ball of fire and eggs him on.  Soon after a fun romp she will nap for hours.

She is the sweetest little beagle girl and everyone who meets her loves her!
I think she would do best in a home with another dog or at least one stay at home family member to give her the attention she needs.

Is Lacy the new addition you've been waiting for?

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
