Jordan A Ellison. Carol Abilock: Donation in loving memory of my mother, Ruth Moyer. Fifty years ago she insisted we get Daisy (our first beagle because they are good family dogs)

Hello everyone. My name is Joe, and I am looking for my forever home. I was brought into Midwest BREW with my sister, after living mostly outdoors, and with a family for 12 years! So, as you can see, everything is a little new and a little different for me now. Foster mom guesses I didn’t have a lot of human contact or loving at my former home, as I’m still a little skittish about being handled or held.Things are getting better as I learn to trust though; I no longer flinch when someone walks by or waves an arm around. I am shy at first, and take a little time to warm up to the people I meet but once I get used to things, I am very loving- and fun! My foster mom gets a kick out of all the funny noises I make, but hey! I’m just stretching, or my nose itches, or something else important I need to talk about!

I do like my naps, but I also like to play. Another dog in the house, one who is on the gentler side would be great for me. I absolutely love being outside! A fenced yard would be great, or lots of outdoor time in the form of walks, dog parks, or just sitting in the sun is exactly what I need. I do howl when squirrels invade the yard, or I’m ready to come inside, or when I need some attention from you, so apartment life or close neighbors is probably not a good fit.

I am still working on potty training, but I am getting much better. For now, I sleep in my crate at night so I don’t have accidents in the house. I like my crate, and often take naps in there too! I like to take walks, and sniff every single thing in the world, but I could use some more practice on not pulling and getting used to the leash. I do love car rides too! And I’m gentle and patient when around the kids that I have met.

Don’t let that age thing fool you, I still have lots of love left to give, and I’m waiting patiently for the right match to come along; one that is a quieter home, with time for exploring and sniffing, and maybe a new friend to play with. Are you a match? Talk to your Midwest BREW Adoption Counselor and come get me soon!

Love and Beagle kisses,

Joe
