Eddy * Popular Good with DogsNot good with ChildrenPotties on a leashHousetrainedLikes to ride in the car
Gender: Male Age: 5 years Status: Available

Meet Eddy!  Eddy is a handsome 5 year old, 28 pound male beagle mix.  Eddy is a fun, sweet, loving boy and loyal companion who likes to be by his people's side, sitting next to them on the couch and lying next to them in bed.

Eddy is potty trained and does well in a fenced yard.  He loves to go on walks and does great on leash without pulling.  He has been walking nicely on a double leash with his foster beagle brother.  Although he walks well on leash, he tends to react when other dogs approach him.

Eddy is very patient waiting for his food and takes treats gently.  He loves vanilla yogurt, chicken jerky treats, snausages and pupperoni treats.  Eddy is not overly food driven like typical beagles and has no issues with counter surfing, snatching other's food or getting into garbage.

Eddy likes soft plush toys, bones and tennis balls. Eddy likes to wrestle with his foster brother and while he can play a little rough at times, he is learning to take queues from his wrestling partner.  Eddy can get a little jealous when other dogs come near his people during cuddle time but he is a smart boy and has been learning that sharing his people is actually ok.  Eddy seems to prefer male dogs around his age but lately has been starting to play gently with his smaller, older foster sister.

Overall Eddy is a very well-trained boy and would make a wonderful addition to an active family.  He would enjoy regular walks and hikes and accompanying his people on trips or to work.  Eddy would do well with an adult family or one with older kids.  He would be ok as a single pet or with a laid back, non-alpha dog.  Eddy would love a home that gives him the attention he craves, cuddles with him regularly, provides him with regular exercise and most importantly, will love him forever.

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
