Adoption Day Info:
Come meet me at BEAGLEFEST!! Saturday, October 1st, 11am to 4pm (Guardian Angel Basset Rescue Dog Park - Dwight, IL)

Meet Jolene! This petite, gorgeous girl was bred as a hunting dog and was also used for breeding. She came to Midwest BREW after her last litter was gone, and we think her pups may have been taken away too early, because she loves to carry her toys around as if they were puppies. She’s about 18 months old and weighs 20 pounds. She is a chow hound, so her new family will need to make sure she maintains a healthy weight.

Jolene is a very active gal; she loves being outside and going for walks. She walks well on a leash, but she will pull when she catches a scent. She will definitely follow her nose! A big back yard where she can run and play and sniff is Jolene’s dream. However, she will either need to be on a tie-out or have a yard with a privacy fence as this tenacious girl can climb a chain-link fence if there’s something on the other side that piques her interest!

Jolene is housebroken for the most part and knows how to use a doggie door. She does well in a crate with things to occupy her, and she sleeps in her crate at night (although she certainly wouldn’t object if she were invited to sleep in bed with her people!). She also rides well in the car and can be either tethered by her harness or in a crate.

Jolene has an independent spirit and would do well in with a family that has an active lifestyle or children to keep her busy. She would be fine as an only dog or with another active dog.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
